Top 3 NIHL Players of Week 21
1. Patrik Forsberg - Milton Keynes Lightning
It was a fantastic weekend for the MK Lightning and Finnish defenseman Patrick Forsberg who had one of his best weekends in a Lightning shirt! On Saturday he got three assists in their 8-0 win against the Sharks, then on Sunday he scored twice and assisted in the Lightning 6-5 overtime win against the Seahawks. Patrik has really settled into the Lightning team and will play a big part in their push for the title in this last part of the season!
2. Sam Tremblay - Sheffield Steeldogs
The Sheffield Steeldogs got four points in their three game weekend with Sam Tremblay putting in some big performances. On Friday he scored twice against the Leeds Knights and then on Saturday he scored another two in their 6-2 victory over the Hull Seahawks where he also added an assist in that game. Then on Sunday he was part of the Steeldogs impressive comeback against the Bees. He scored and assisted twice to comeback from 3-0 down. He then scored the winning penalty shot to take the win on Sunday night.
3. Reed Morison - Romford Raiders
After being signed a couple weeks ago for the Romford Raiders with Adam Laishram out of the lineup. Reed has his best weekend in a Raiders shirt. On Saturday Romford secured a big 8-4 victory in Peterborough against the Phantoms, where Reed scored a shorthanded goal and assisted a further two. Then on Sunday he helped the Raiders complete a four-point weekend with another three point night. He has been a big improvement for the Raiders on their special teams and starting to come alive in the NIHL.
Honourable Mentions:
Eric Henderson had a five point night on Sunday against the Peterborough Phantoms where he scored the game winning goal. Owen Rider secured both wins as he took the net over Ethan James this weekend. Kieran Brown scored twice on Friday night and got four points in the Knights four-point weekend.
