NIHL Week 12 Preview
Saturday 30th November:
The first game of the weekend sees the Swindon Wildcats back at home against the Romford Raiders. The Cats coming off the back of a big 5-2 away win in Hull while the Raiders secured a big 5-4 win in their last away game in Peterborough, Miller and Laishram both didn’t ice last weekend so will be interesting to see if they are back this weekend.
The Leeds Knights host the Telford Tigers. This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides with Leeds beating them all three games but the Tigers put up great fights keeping them to one goal games. Henderson and Thomson have been on fire and Tom Watkins will be hoping they can be difference makers in beating the Knights.
The Berkshire Bees will look to carry on their form at home as they host the Sheffield Steeldogs. The Dogs are coming off the back off a four-point weekend despite missing a few players in the lineup. Antonov is coming off the back off scoring three goals last weekend.
The MK Lightning host the Solway Sharks in the first of two games against eachother this weekend. Both teams coming off the back of solid weekends, with both winning in overtime on Sunday night. Kell Beattie the Shark in form after scoring both goals Sunday.
The final game on Saturday sees the Bristol Pitbulls host the Hull Seahawks who are without a win in five games. The Pitbulls only had one games last weekend in which they won at home 4-3 against the Bees. Captain Tanner Butler in fine form after scoring twice.
Sunday 1st December:
The early game on Sunday sees the second game between the Sharks and Lightning. Jordan Marr is coming off the back of saving 44/45 shots on Sunday while Will Kerlin was the victor in the Lightnings penalty shootout win where he saved all five.
The Romford Raiders host the Bristol Pitbulls and will look to get back to winning ways at home after dropping an overtime loss last weekend. Andrew Shewfelt will look to carry on his scoring form after getting two last Saturday against the Phantoms.
The Hull Seahawks host the Berkshire Bees in what is a must win for Matty Davies side who have lost their last three games at home. Despite the poor form, Sobchak still remains top of the points tally and only 2 point off 50.
The Peterborough Phantoms have just one game this weekend at home against the Sheffield Steeldogs. The Dogs beat the Phantoms in Peterborough earlier in the season. Slava’s side will look to get back to winning ways after losing both games last weekend.
The final game of the weekend sees the Telford Tigers host the Swindon Wildcats for the first time this season. They faced off in pre-season where the Cats won both games however with a couple new players in Watkins side, it will be a completely different test for the Cats.
