The Department of Player Safety have adjudicated and reviewed the penalties sent to them by the PINIHL Game Review Panel from game play over the weekend 30th November & 1st December 2024 and confirm:

Sheffield Steeldogs #29 Nathan Ripley

The video footage of the incident is inconclusive and following review of the referees’ report.    

At 38:09 during the second period of the game, the checking player Steeldogs #29 makes contact with the body of Bees #74 near the boards, as he does, his shoulder and elbow are also raised making contact with the neck and head of #74 and as such meets the requirements of Rule 48.3 “Illegal check to the head” causing reckless endangerment.

This has been assessed as a as a 5+game Misconduct Penalty which will carry 5 penalty points and in addition as a Tariff 1 offence the player is suspended for 2 games. The player has one further game outstanding to serve.

Bristol Pitbulls #51 Reece Cochrane

The 5 + Game Misconduct penalty assessed at 16.34 during the first period of the game meets the requirements of rule 43- checking from behind

The check was from behind, numbers clearly visible, checked player was in a vulnerable position and recklessly endangered by the check.

The check meets the requirements of Rule 43.3 Checking from behind This has been assessed as a 5+game Misconduct Penalty which will carry 5 penalty points and in addition as a Tariff 1 offence the player is suspended for 1 game.

As the player has reached 10 personal penalty points, the player is suspended for a further 1 game under the totting up procedure.
