Top 3 NIHL Players of Week 13
1. Bobby Chamberlain - Hull Seahawks
The Seahawks secured a big four-point weekend and the captain led by example. On Saturday night he assisted three goals in a comfortable 8-1 victory against the Raiders. Then on Sunday he put the team on his back and scored four goals after the Seahawks trailed 5-1 after the first period. Bobby’s four goals brought the Seahawks back level at 5-5 before Bonner went on to win it in overtime. A real captains performance to help his team make one of the best comebacks this season.
2. Renny Marr - Swindon Wildcats
The Wildcats got 3/4 points this weekend and a big part of that was how well Marr was in goal all weekend. On Saturday he led the team to a 3-0 shutout win at home against the Solway Sharks. Then on Sunday he saved 48/51 shots including an incredible acrobatic save with just 3 seconds to go which got the Wildcats a point.
3. Oli Endicott - Leeds Knights
After a tough few games without a point, it was a fantastic weekend for Oli Endicott who was the star performer in the Knights four-point weekend. On Saturday night he scored twice and assisted twice in a four-point night against the Bees. Then on Sunday he played a lovely pass over to Bradon who scored to get himself another point against the Wildcats.
Honourable Mentions:
John Dunbar scored 4 goals including the overtime winner in the Solway Sharks victory against the Pitbulls on Sunday. Mack Stewart was on first this weekend scoring against the Pitbulls and assisting five goals the rest of the weekend. Owen Sobchak scored a hat-trick on Saturday night and Tom Norton scored twice including the game winner in the Phantoms 5-4 away victory against the Raiders.
