The DRS review requested by Romford Raiders is upheld.
A DRS review was requested of an incident at 51.53 of the third period of the game
During a stoppage of play at 51.53 an incident occurred by the Bristol bench during which Bristol #24 cross checks Romford #95 to the side of the head, for this the player was assessed a minor penalty for cross checking.
Rule 48A penalty for “Illegal check to the head or neck” will be assessed if one of the following occurs when a player checks an opponent:
(I) A Player who directs a hit of any sort, with any part of their body or equipment, to the head or neck of an opposing Player
48.3. MAJOR PENALTY AND GAME MISCONDUCT PENALTY
The Referee, at their discretion, may assess a Major Penalty and an automatic Game Misconduct Penalty if, in their judgment, the Player recklessly endangers their opponent by an “illegal check to the head or neck”.
Due to the reckless endangerment caused, the head being picked the check targeted towards the head of a player this meets the requirements of Rule 48 Illegal check to the head or neck area this call has been upgraded to a 5 + Game Misconduct.
The Player will receive a 5 + Game misconduct penalty, 5 penalty points and as Tariff 1 offence is suspended for 1 game.
As the player has reached 10 personal penalty points, the player is suspended for an additional 1 game under the totting up procedure.
Total Suspension: 2 games.
Romford Raiders #95 Shaun Miller

A DRS review was requested of an incident at 08:49 of the first period of the game
Bristol player #7 is in centre of rink in the Romford zone just inside the blue line, Romford player #95 to his right skating towards him, the Bristol player is in possession of the puck and plays the puck to his left, as he does his body position changes and as a result lowers his head.
The Romford player is in a checking position, doesn’t change his stance, his elbow is outside his body and makes a glancing contact with the head / neck area.
This does not appear to be a targeted or picked to the head but incidental due to Bristol players body position changes immediately prior to the contact.
The responsibility to ensure the check does not contact the head is the checking players.
This is a check to the head, but due to the mitigation stated, shall be assessed as a 5 + Game misconduct,
The player Receives 5 Penalty points and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points.
