Record attendances all across the NIHL
The Milton Keynes Lightning and Peterborough Phantoms had a doubler header against each other with both teams selling out. The Lightning with over 2500 fans in attendance and the Phantoms with over 1500 fans, their highests this season.
The Leeds Knights sold out their festive game against the Solway Sharks with over 2000 fans in attendance. The first time the Knights have sold out this season and they secured a huge 5-1 victory to go with it.
The Bristol Pitbulls sold out their derby game against the Swindon Wildcats with 1475 fans in attendance. The Wildcats also had their biggest attendance since 1996 as they beat the Pitbulls 8-1 with 1469 fans in attendance at the Link Centre.
The Romford Raiders sold out for the second time this season in their festive game against the Berkshire Bees where they came back from 3-1 down to win 5-3. 1200 fans in attendance at the Sapphire.
The Hull Seahawks also sold out their festive game against the Sheffield Steeldogs, coming back from 4-1 down to win 5-4 in front of over 1575 fans.
Then on New Years Eve the Sheffield Steeldogs had their first sell out of the season with 1500 fans in attendance at the NIHL cup semi-final game against the Leeds Knights.
The Telford Tigers had over 1000 fans in attendance for the first time this season in their festive game against the Bristol Pitbulls.
It has been amazing to see how much the game of Ice Hockey has grown all over the country and we hope to see many more sell outs throughout the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
