Pre-season Wins For Wildcats
Tyler Perre starred in net as he secured a 30 save shutout, his first in a Wildcats jersey!
Start of the first period
It was a fast forechecking start for the Cats and the early pressure paid off with Bradley and Wells getting their first points in a Wildcats jersey. Wells shot was tipped smartly by Nell straight into the back of the net. Goal scored at 04:33.
Perre was then called into action for the Cats as he made an excellent double save to deny Finley Howells and Vladimir Luka.
Reed Sayers then produced a bit of magic as he received a pass from Bradley and flicked it past the Telford defensemen before firing it past the goalie to double the Wildcats lead. Goal scored at 10:25.
Then just before the end of the period, Jones played a lovely pass from behind the goal to Nell who made no mistake from inside the slot to put the Cats three goals up at the first interval. Goal scored at 19:05.
End of the first period: Tigers 0-3 Wildcats
Both teams defended well to start the second period with neither side being able to create any clear chances at goal, both Perre and Bloor standing firm in net.
However it would be Jones and Nell who combined together again to force the puck over the line and give the Cats a four goal lead. Goal scored at 32:05
End of the second period: Tigers 0-4 Wildcats
The third period was a defensive clinic from the Wildcats. Telford tried to push for a goal in front of their home fans but with some good stops from Perre and some big blocks from Plews and Bradley, the Cats secured a shutout victory!
Perre took home a deserved man of the match award saving all 30 shots on the night.
End of the game: Tigers 0-4 Wildcats
A fantastic display from the Wildcats who have looked very strong in their opening two pre-season games.
