MK Lightning become the 24/25 Playoff Champions
It was a dominant final with the MK Lightning defeating the Peterborough Phantoms 6-1 in the playoff grand final.

Jordan Hedley with a stellar performance saving 21/22 shots on the night equalling a 95.45%

It was a fast start from the Lightning and they were rewarded with a quick goal by their Captain James Griffin who latched onto a rebound, Ben Solder then made it two with a wrist shot fired straight through Hayden Lavinge. Nathan Salem who was brilliant all weekend got one back for the Phantoms with a lovely shot into the top corner on the powerplay. Jordan Cownie quickly reassured the two goal lead with a quick shot fired past Lavinge.

The Phantoms needed a big second period but it would be the Lightning who carried on the dominance with Ross Venus scoring two goals. His first on the power play tapping it in at the back door and then his second a breakaway shorthanded which he calmly slotted past Lavinge which sent the Lightning fans crazy.

The final period was a defensive shutdown where the Phantoms struggled to break through the Lightning defence. The game was capped off with an empty net goal from Harry Gulliver and the equipment was thrown into the air in excitement for all the Lightning players! A fantastic end to the season for Tim Wallace’s side.
