Former Leeds Knights back-to-back league winner signs with an NIHL 1 team
The 28-year-old American scored 87 points in 45 games across two seasons for the Knights.
Head Coach of the Dragons, Mike Clancy said this on signing Jake:
“I’ve been in contact with Jake throughout the summer – he had many options here in the UK and I’m pleased he bought into the club's values and ambition, while also wanting to contribute to the successes of the club whilst still in its rebuilding phase."
"To bring Jake in is just what we all needed, he is a great young man who fits right in with our group, club, and ambition as a team. He will add to our offense and our special teams. He is excited to be joining the Deeside Dragons and we can’t wait for him to hit the ice. The boys and the club as a whole are excited to have him in with us for the coming season and I know his new linemates can’t wait for him to get here.” Added Clancy.
Fans online are shocked at the move with some calling it "the best signing of the of season by any team." and its hard to argue against it with the numbers and success he had at the Leeds Knights.
Jake had this to say about signing with the Dragons:
“I’m extremely excited to get to Deeside and be part of a great organisation. I look forward to contributing in any way I can to help the team win!”
The Dragons had a tough start to the season last weekend losing to the Billingham Stars and the Blackburn Hawks but fans of Deeside will be hoping Jake can add plenty of goals and assists to the team.
