The Department of Player Safety have adjudicated and reviewed the penalty sent to them by the PINIHL Game Review Panel from game play over the weekend 28th & 29th September 2024 and confirm:

Peterborough Phantoms #19 Luke Ferrara v’s Swindon Wildcats

"Penalty was assessed as a 5 minute for Boarding

On review this has been increased to a 5+ Game Misconduct penalty for Checking from behind.

Rule 43:1 A check from behind is a check delivered to a vulnerable Player who is not aware of the impending hit, therefore unable to protect or defend themself from such a hit and contact is made on the back part of the body.

The check was from behind, numbers clearly visible, in a vulnerable position and recklessly endangering the opponent.

The player is suspended for 3 games and 5 penalty points will be added to his playing record.
