Game Review Panel: Saturday 19th October
The following penalties have been reviewed and the players are available to play in the next game (subject to the teams reviewing accumulated player personal penalty points):
Telford Tigers # 26 Deakan Fielder
The 5 minute penalty assessed meets the requirements of Rule 41.3
Player guilty of “boarding” an opponent, and who recklessly endangers the fouled Player in a way that at the discretion of the Referee such Player would not be sufficiently sanctioned by imposing a Minor Penalty
Player receives 1 penalty point and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points
Solway Sharks #88 Kyle Carruth
Penalty assessed is correct as the fighting situation meets the requirements of IHUK in House rule 46.3 for Instigator 2'+5'+Game Penalty
Player receives 5 penalty point and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points
Peterborough Phantoms #29 Cameron Hough
The penalty as assessed 5 minutes for fighting is correct. Under Rule 46.6 a Player who retaliates to being punched will be assessed at least a Minor Penalty (“Roughing”) or a Major Penalty (“Fighting”, without a Game Misconduct Penalty).
Player receives 1 penalty point and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points
Swindon Wildcats #21 Luc Johnson
The players actions do not meet the requirements of IHUK rule 46 "willing and equal combatants" within a fighting situation.
The player shall receive a roughing Minor Under Rule 46.6 Player who retaliates to being punched will be assessed at least a Minor Penalty (“Roughing”) or a Major Penalty (“Fighting”, without a Game Misconduct Penalty), if the criteria for “fighting back” with a few punches is not fulfilled
The 5 Minute penalty and penalty point assessed will be removed from his playing record.
Telford Tigers #4 Adam Harding
Player was assessed a 5 minute penalty under IHUK Rule 46 under the equal and willing criteria, on review Telford Player #4 is clearly the aggressor under rule 46.6, The “Aggressor” in an altercation shall be the Player who continues to throw punches in an attempt to inflict punishment on their opponent who is in a defenceless position or who is an “unwilling combatant”.
As such the player should have received a 2+5+game misconduct penalty.
For these actions the penalty will be upgraded and the player will receive 5 penalty points.
The player is free to play dependant on accumulated penalty points
Sheffield Steeldogs #71 Jack Brammer
The 5 minute penalty assessed meets the requirements of Rule 41.3 Player guilty of “boarding” an opponent, and who recklessly endangers the fouled Player in a way that at the discretion of the Referee such Player would not be sufficiently sanctioned by imposing a Minor Penalty.
Player receives 1 penalty point and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points
