Recapping week 22 of the NIHL
There was 10 games in action this weekend and here is your mini review of each game.

Thursday 6th February:

The Peterborough Phantoms faced off against the Berkshire Bees in a rescheduled game where Hayden Lavinge got a 6-0 shutout victory. Duncan Speirs with two goals on the night. An all round solid game for the Phantoms.

Saturday 8th February:

The Hull Seahawks came away comfortable winner at home against the Romford Raiders. Matty Davies side won 8-4 with Lee Haywood having a five point night. Jason Hewitt also scored twice in a convincing victory.

It was a thriller at the Link Centre where the Swindon Wildcats came from 4-2 down to beat the Solway Sharks 6-5. The two Canadians, Jake Bricknell and Ryan Wells with the third period goals to win it for the Cats.

The Telford Tigers moved into a play off spot with a 5-3 victory in Slough against the Berkshire Bees. Finley Howells with a pair of goals to help them beat the Bees for the second time in Slough this season.

Then the biggest double header of the weekend between the MK Lightning and Leeds Knights in first and second place. And it would be the Knights who took first blood with a 4-2 victory in Milton Keynes. Three 2nd period goals to get them the two points. 

Sunday 9th February:

The Solway Sharks played their second game down south this weekend against the Bristol Pitbulls and it went all the way to penalty shots where the Pibtulls took the extra point. New Canadian Mitchell Walinski with the winning shootout goal.

The MK Lightning got their revenge over the Leeds Knights and split the weekend with a 3-2 victory. A Jordan Cownie power play goal handed the Lightning the two points and makes the title race even closer.

The Romford Raiders fell to a 4-3 overtime defeat to the Sheffield Steeldogs. Walker Sommer scored an equaliser with 44 seconds to go and then scored the overtime winner to send the Steedogs back to Yorkshire with maximum points.

The Hull Seahawks completed their four-point weekend with a dramatic overtime victory against the Peterborough Phantoms. With the game tied up at 5-5. Emil Svec scored the overtime winner to hand the Seahawks the extra point.

And finally the Berkshire Bees stole the extra point in overtime against the Telford Tigers with Will Stead scoring the winner with 27 seconds left. However this point for the Tigers keeps them one point ahead of the Solway Sharks in a play off spot.
