Top 3 NIHL Players Of Week 22
1. Scott McKenzie
The 38 year-old veteran lead the Telford Tigers to a big three points this weekend against the Berkshire Bees. On Saturday he scored and asssited twice in a 5-3 victory. Then on Sunday he had another three point night in their overtime defeat. However these three points have put the Tigers back in a play off spot above the Solway Sharks.
2. Johnny Corneil
The Hull Seahawks were the only team to secure a four-point weekend and it was a great weekend for Johnny Corneil. On Saturday night he scored and assisted twice in the Seahawks 8-4 victory against the Romford Raiders. Then on Sunday he had an even better game scoring two and assisting another two including the overtime winner.
3. Lee Haywood
Since returning back to the Seahawks side, Lee has had a big impact on the team. On Saturday he had one of his best point scoring games of his career. He scored a highlight reel goal and assisted a further four goals! Then on Sunday he added another assist to make it a six point weekend from defence.
Honourable mentions:
Tomasz Malasinski scored and assisted twice in the Wildcats 6-5 victory against the Sharks. Luke Ferrara led the Phantoms to a three point weekend and scored 6 points in two games. Dom Gabaj recorded four assists in the Bees 5-4 victory. Then Walker Sommer scored with 45 seconds to go and the overtime winner in the Steeldogs only game of the weekend.
