Top 3 NIHL players of week four

Top 3 NIHL players of week four
With week four wrapped up their were many stand out players but we have whittled it down to just three.

1. Cameron Hough

With the absence of Captain Luke Ferrara, the Peterborough Phantoms needed their imports to step up and that’s exactly what Cameron Hough did. He helped the Phantoms secure a four point weekend scoring twice on Saturday away in Bristol and then a Hat-trick in the derby against the MK Lightning. Cam has had an excellent start to the season with 10 goals in 8 games and has fit very well into Slava’s new team.

2. Walker Sommer

The Steeldogs picked up their first four-point weekend and Sommer was a big part of it. On Saturday the Steeldogs got a huge 3-1 victory against the Swindon Wildcats where Sommer scored two brilliant goals and the game winner. Then on Sunday he carried on his goal scoring form by scoring a Hat-trick against the Bershire Bees. He totalled seven points on the weekend and has been one of the stand out players of the whole league.

3. Max Wright

The Berkshire Bees pulled off one of the shocks of the season by beating the former league winners Leeds Knights 2-1 in Slough. The defensive effort from the Bees was outstanding but it all started with Wright who saved 49/50 shots on the night with a 98% save percentage. So far this season Wright has been one of the best goalies and has settled very quickly in the NIHL.

Honourable Mentions: There we’re many players who deserves a shoutout. Jordan Cownie had his best weekend in a Lightning shirt picking up four points on Saturday. Steeldogs goalie Ben Norton had an excellent weekend saving 36/37 shots on Saturday against the Wildcats and leading the Steeldogs to a four point weekend. Nick Pryce also came up big for the Bristol Pitbulls this weekend getting 4 points on Saturday and a further two points on Sunday.
